the grand hotel riga was a huge disappointment, especially when i had to pay for my daughter's breakfast even though she barely ate. breakfast had the lowest quality food, and to top it all off, our shower leaked water all over the bathroom floor. i guess expecting some pampering was too much to ask.

Room upgrade and stunning views
Upon arrival, I received a complimentary upgrade to a luxury room with breathtaking views of the Danube. The spacious, clean, and quiet environment was a delightful surprise. Dining at the Panorama restaurant was a treat, with reasonably priced meals and excellent local wines.
Despite the pleasant stay, noise from ongoing renovations was distracting during the day. The breakfast options left much to be desired, lacking variety and freshness, which was disappointing for a hotel of this caliber. The elevator system seemed outdated, adding to the overall concerns about the hotel's infrastructure.

During my stay as a solo traveler, I appreciated the clean and spacious Executive Double Room with River View. The view of the Danube was truly breathtaking, adding a special touch to the experience. The location was fantastic, just a short walk from cultural spots like the Museum of Urban Life and the impressive Sveta Troitsa Cathedral. However, the shower door leaked, which made for a bit of a mess in the bathroom. Overall, my time here was enjoyable and memorable due to the surroundings and the charming room.
